A lawyer by training and profession, Jonathan has spent more than twenty years working in the New York offices of two large firms. A sprawling interview about literature and culture, topics covered include the rise of crime in NYC, the demise of the shared literary experience, the decolonization of literature, technology's influence on reading, the power of literature to overcome depression, and modern therapeutic culture.
